Yurt Info:
Sometimes called “Hawaii Beach” when the days are clear, and the late evening summer sun warms this beautifully situated little cove, the Right Beach yurt is a great place to have a relaxing evening with your family. There is room for tents at a campsite on the beach berm, so this yurt can be combined with tent camping for big parties and celebrations. The beach is large, with lots of room to run and play, and plenty of space for a nice evening fire to sit by (make sure to extinguish). The sun might even convince you to go for a swim! Be advised that this beach is a popular camping area, so if absolute seclusion is your goal, other sites may be a better choice.
Suggested Trips:
Bring a kayak to this site and you can explore the nearby water, or even make reservations for dinner at the Saltry restaurant in the town of Halibut Cove. Paddle to the saddle trail just around the corner to the south and hike to Grewingk Lake, or up to the glacier on the Blue Ice trail. At low tide (less than 10 ft) you can get over to Rusty’s Lagoon to the north, but the tide must still be low for you to return to your yurt at Right Beach. Don’t lose track of the time or you’ll find yourself cut off by the rising water!
